Mimi Chakraborty, who was duped at a fake vaccine camp in Kolkata’s Kasba area recently, fall sick on Saturday morning. Doctors have said the actor-MP is down with dehydration, low blood pressure and stomach pain. They are also saying Mimi’s illness might be due to a panic attack. The TMC MP from Jadavpur was feeling under the weather since Friday night. According to reports, she even fell unconscious after profuse sweating, and then she had to be given medical help. Incidentally, the ‘SOS Kolkata’ actor already has gall bladder and liver-related problems.

On Monday morning, Mimi’s secretary had received a call from a certain Debanjan Deb, posing as the Joint Commissioner, KMC, inviting Mimi to participate in a COVID-19 vaccination drive in Kasba. It was for the transgenders and specially-abled children among others, he had told.

“I was willing to go there and inspire others to take the jab. But, little did I know that I was running into a spurious vaccination drive in broad daylight,” she said earlier. Mimi, too, took the jab at the same camp to inspire others. She later enquired about the vaccination certificate that should have been available soon after.

“They told me I’ll receive a text message in some time. Despite apprehensions, I waited it out. Later that afternoon, I reached out to them again. I was told I’ll get the certificate in 3-4 days. That’s when I noticed all the red flags. I asked my office staff to immediately evacuate everyone at the camp and down the shutters, while I made a call to the nearest police station,” said Mimi.

After an initial investigation, the police seized a large number of vials of Amikacin injections and fake labels of Covishield at Debanjan Deb’s office among other things.
