Kabul: On Friday, a blast targeted a minibus in the Dasht-i-Barch neighbourhood of Afghanistan's capital Kabul, killing two civilians and injuring three more. "A blast ripped through a mini-bus in the Dasht-i-Barchi district this afternoon, killing two civilians and injuring three others," Interior Ministry spokesman Qari Sayed Khosti stated.
Eyewitnesses, on the other hand, believed that the number of casualties was likely larger than recorded. The officer also confirmed that a woman was hurt in a blast at the same location on Friday afternoon, but he didn't provide any other information. The explosives have not been blamed on any organisation or individual.
According to eyewitnesses, the blast occurred at 3:25 p.m. local time and targeted a minibus in the Dasht-i-Barchi district, a suburb of Police District 13 in Kabul.
Daesh, or the extreme Islamic State (IS), has already claimed responsibility for subversive activities such as the recent bombings of two minibuses in the Dasht-i-Barchi region.
