New Delhi: In the NEET-JEE exam case, a review petition has been filed in the top court. The ministers of the 6 non-BJP ruled states have filed a petition demanding the court to reconsider the August 17 decision. There was a refusal to postpone these examinations. The ministers filing the petition are Molloy Ghatak of West Bengal, Rameshwar Oraon of Jharkhand, Amarjeet Bhagat of Chhattisgarh, Balbir Sidhu of Punjab, Uday Samanta of Maharashtra.

Earlier, 11 students, including Sayantan Biswas, had filed a petition in the apex court, stating that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced to conduct the examination of JEE (Main) between September 1 and 6 and NEET on September 13. In view of the speed with which the infection of Corona is spreading in the country, the conduct of exam right now can pose a serious health hazard to the students and their families. Therefore, the examination should be postponed until the situation becomes normal.

On August 17, the case was brought before a three-judge bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra. But the court refused to postpone these examinations for admission in medical and engineering at the national level. The court said that "A valuable year of students cannot be allowed to waste."
