The dispute between the Punjab Chief Secretary and some cabinet ministers over the excise policy finally ended in the state cabinet meeting on Wednesday. When Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh also reached the cabinet meeting on Wednesday afternoon, many speculations started about his presence. Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal told reporters after the meeting that the Chief Secretary had appeared in the meeting and he apologized to the entire cabinet.

Apart from this, the Chief Secretary assured not to give anyone a chance to complain again. The cabinet accepted his apology. After the controversy, Manpreet Badal had announced in the last meeting that if the Chief Secretary comes to the meeting, he will not take part in it. The whole controversy caught up pace that many ministers and MLAs started demanding the removal of the Chief Secretary.

In the last meeting, all the ministers unanimously handed over the task of resolving this dispute to the Chief Minister. After this, the Chief Minister organized lunch at his residence twice and called the angry ministers and listened to them. Apart from this, Manpreet Badal and the Chief Secretary were also sitting face to face. In Wednesday's cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister will resolve this issue. Manpreet Badal said that the Chief Secretary had apologized to him twice. On Wednesday, he apologized for the third time in front of the entire cabinet. It will not be right if someone does not forgive. He said that today the entire cabinet forgive the Chief Secretary.
