New Delhi: The External Affairs Ministry has recently issued a statement on the return of Indians from Afghanistan. In fact, recently, the Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying, "Things have been changing very fast in Afghanistan for the last few days. The Government of India is closely monitoring the developments in Afghanistan. We have been continuously issuing advisories for the safety of our citizens present there, including the appeal to return. Some Indians are still there and are in touch with those who want to return.'' At the same time, it has been said, "We are also in touch with representatives of the Afghan Sikh and Hindu community. We will help those who want to come to India. There are Afghans who have been partners in our common work. We will support them.''

They further said, "Commercial operations in Kabul were halted today, affecting our return work. We are waiting for the flights to resume. The situation in Afghanistan is constantly being reviewed at the highest level. The Government will take every step to protect Indian citizens and concerns in Afghanistan.''

According to a report by a well-known website, Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi had issued a statement last Monday on the developments in neighboring Afghanistan. She had said, "India wants peace all over the world. You must be aware that after President Ashraf Ghani left the country, the capital Kabul was captured by the Taliban last Sunday and the situation is no longer right.''
