Lord's: Indian captain Virat Kohli credited the entire team for their 151-run victory in the second Test against England at Lord's. In a recent statement, he said, "The ninth-wicket partnership between Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah in the second innings created an atmosphere of victory for the team.'' Let me tell you all that India declared their second innings at 298 for 8 with an unbroken partnership of 89 runs for the ninth wicket between Shami (56 not out off 70 balls) and Bumrah (34 not out off 64 balls). In fact, they set a target of 272 runs for England and then dismissed their entire team for just 120 runs at their home ground.

"I am proud of the entire team," said Indian captain Virat Kohli in a post-match statement. The bowlers did not get help for the three days before the pitch, but we implemented our strategy well. The way Jasprit Bumrah and Md. Shami batted under pressure in the second innings was unmatched. This is where the atmosphere was created, which helped us further. At the same time, he further said, "The lower-order batsmen do not get much chance to make such a partnership and our lower order contributed due to which we have succeeded.''

At the same time, Virat Kohli said, "The team thought it would be difficult to score 272 runs in 60 overs, but 10 wickets could be taken. We knew we could take 10 wickets. A little stress on the field inspired us. We wanted to encourage Shami and Bumrah and so we handed them the new ball. They also gave us wickets immediately.''

Let us also tell all of you that this is India's third win at Lord's. In fact, India had earlier won here in 2014 under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Virat Kohli was also part of that team at that time. Talking about the same recently, Virat Kohli said, "I was part of that team with Maahi Bhai in 2014, but it was fantastic to win in 60 overs. Mohammad Siraj was playing at Lord's for the first time and bowled brilliantly. Nothing can be a better gift for Indian fans than this win.''
