Amid lockdown and corona crisis, the central government has urged states to set up renewable energy equipment manufacturing parks. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has appealed to the states to set up renewable energy (RE) equipment manufacturing parks to meet domestic demand. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has offered several incentives to the states to set up such parks, after the outbreak of Coronavirus, many international firms are looking at transferring their production units from China.

On this matter, the ministry said in a statement that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has initiated large-scale action to set up new centres for the manufacture of renewable energy equipment in the country to meet domestic and global demand. With this objective, the Ministry has given 50-500 acres of land parcels to various state governments and port authorities to set up such parks.
