Famous Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour of Indian cinema, on Tuesday. This award was given for his incomparable contribution to Indian cinema and his excellent acting. On this special occasion, Mithun recalled the struggles of his life and told how many difficulties he has faced to reach this point.

Problems arose in the film industry regarding colour

Mithun Chakraborty recalled his days of struggle and said that when he came to the film industry, people used to say all kinds of things about his complexion. He said, "People used to say that dark skin will not work in the film industry. You go back, there is no place for you here." Mithun also shared that he was called "Kalia", and he was deeply saddened by this. He used to complain to God that why only struggle came his way. Mithun said, "I always complained to God that I did not get anything easily. I had to struggle a lot for everything. I told God, you gave me name and fame, but why so many problems?"

Identified not by color, but by dance

Despite this humiliation and struggle, Mithun did not give up. He decided that if people were not accepting him because of his complexion, he would impress them with his dance. He said, "I thought I should dance in such a way that people look at my legs, not my skin. And that's what I did." Mithun's dance style and confidence caught people's attention, and slowly people forgot his complexion and started loving him for his acting and dancing. Mithun said, "I tried this in all my films, and eventually people forgot my complexion and started knowing me as 'sexy, dark Bengali babu'."

The story of arrogance after receiving the National Award

Mithun also shared an incident from the early days of his career when he received the National Film Award. At that time, he felt very special and thought that now big producers and directors would line up for him. Mithun said, "I was arrogant that I have achieved something big. I thought I have become like Al Pacino."

However, his arrogance got him thrown out of a producer's office. This incident taught Mithun how important it is to have humility along with success. He said, "After that day, I stopped behaving like Al Pacino and brought myself down to earth again."

Advice for new artists

Mithun Chakraborty also gave an important message for young struggling actors on this occasion. He said, "There are many talented people in our country, but they do not have money. I would like to tell them that even if you do not have money, do not lose hope. Keep dreaming and keep working hard. Sleep, but do not let your dreams sleep." Mithun Chakraborty's story proves that the path to success is never easy. Every step of his life was full of struggle, but he never gave up. His struggle, dance and acting brought him to a position where today he is receiving the country's biggest film honour. Mithun Chakraborty's story teaches us that despite difficulties and insults, if we have faith in our talent and hard work, then no obstacle can come in our way. His struggle is an inspiration for millions of youth who dream and are trying to make their mark.
