New Delhi: Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh, two northeastern states, have reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in a day on Tuesday. In Mizoram, 807 people were confirmed infected and 508 new cases were reported in Arunachal Pradesh. A health department official in Aizawl said the state received the highest number of 807 cases in a day on Tuesday, with a total of 28,295 cases. He explained that new cases include more than 150 children.
A senior health department official in Itanagar said Arunachal Pradesh recorded the highest daily increase so far on Tuesday. He said that after the confirmation of 508 new patients, the total number of cases has reached 43,328. State monitoring officer Dr. Lobsang Jampa said the death toll after the death of the 80-year-old has risen to 203. The highest number of cases have come from the capital complex area, where 140 people have been confirmed infected.
He explained that the number of patients undergoing treatment for infection in the state is 4,260, while 38,865 patients have recovered from the infection. The transition rate in the state is 7.73 percent. Meanwhile, an official in the southern state of Puducherry said that 78 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the last 24 hours in the Union Territory which ended at 10 am on Tuesday.
