Aizwal: Mizoram has reported 301 new cases of corona infection, with a total number of infected people increasing to 22,155. A health department official said in this regard on Wednesday. He said the Aizawl district reported the highest number of 205 new cases. This has been followed by 41 cases from Lunglei and 31 from Mamit.

He explained that the daily infection rate is 8.48 percent. So far, 98 people have lost their lives due to infection in the province. There are currently 3,674 patients undergoing treatment and so far 18,383 patients have been infection-free. Meanwhile, State Immunization Officer Dr. Laljawami informed that more than 5,49,233 people have been administered anti-covid-19 vaccine doses till Tuesday. Two days ago, 91 new cases of corona infection were registered in Mizoram.

The total number of infected cases in the state is 21,337, including 3,581 active cases, 17,661 discharged cases, and 95 deaths. 64 new cases have been found in Aizawl district, while one case each has been found in Kolacib (9), Lunglei (10), Siaha (4), Serchhip (2), Mamit, and Saitual districts have one case. The official said 29 children and two policemen were among the newly infected people.
