New Delhi: During the hearing of the petition seeking hearing through video conferencing in all the High Courts, lower courts, and tribunals of the country including the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court said that a similar case is under consideration in the court. Therefore, the court will hear this petition after 4 weeks. This petition has been filed by the Supreme Court lawyer ML Sharma.

The petition said that hearings should be heard in all the courts across the country through video conferencing, but it should be kept optional. So that one who does not want to attend the video conferencing hearing can attend the physical hearing. The petition states that "In the interest of justice, instruct the state to provide video mechanism for judicial process across the country."

Due to the spread of coronavirus infection, cases are being heard in the Supreme Court through video conferences since March last year. Many times the bodies and lawyers have been demanding for a long time that the cases should be heard immediately. The petition said that the plaintiff and the lawyer should be free to choose the method of hearing. It said that paperless e-filing for hearing and judicial records through video conference will save people's lives as the paper has also been found to be the carrier of infection.
