Indore: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan inaugurated an international cargo complex at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport on Wednesday. In view of the demand of BJP MP of Indore Shankar Lalwani in the program held during this period, CM Chauhan has announced to create a logistics hub in the Indore Depalpur area. He has also selected land for the construction of the hub.
During the program Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, '22 acres of land will be given to Indore Airport Authority for the expansion of Indore Airport. The existing airport terminal building is small and a new terminal is required to be built keeping in mind the future requirements. Simultaneously, the Chief Minister also said, 'The government will ensure the availability of land for the construction of the airport terminal building.' Further, CM Shivraj also said that 'Logistic hub will be built within a radius of 20 km from Indore Airport'.
In fact, the officials said that '37,960 tonnes of cargo can be handled every year at the 1,330 square meters international air cargo terminal in Indore called Madhya Pradesh's economic capital. This terminal is equipped with state-of-the-art X-ray machines and safety equipment along with cold storage. During the program, CM said, 'Medicines, leather products, machinery, components, snacks, and other products from Indore are exported to UAE, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Italy, Germany, France, and Zimbabwe.'
