New Delhi: India is the world's sixth largest exporter in the textile industry. The Modi cabinet has given the green signal to the proposal to set up mega textile parks to increase it and create new employment opportunities. Sources say that the textile mega-park will cost around Rs 4000 crore. In the last few months, the Central Government has taken a third major decision on textiles. This is followed by a sharp surge in shares of textile business-related companies. Usually, women in the textile sector have got a large number of jobs.

The PLI scheme will boost the employment of women and connect them with the formal sector of the economy. The scheme will greatly help states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Odisha. India is the sixth-largest exporter in the world in the textile industry. Exports in this sector are set to improve through textile parks. That is why the government is developing an integrated textile park. Simply put, it will set up several factory units at one place. Facilities for all basic items related to the textile industry such as production, market linkage are available. The government develops it keeping in view international standards.

The textile park aims to bring in big investments in the textile sector. These parks have integrated facilities for the textile industry. At the same time, there is a system of minimizing the losses in transportation. They have modern infrastructure, shared facilities as well as research and development labs. From thread-to-fabric preparation, clothing dyeing, sewing, etc., to packing and transporting them, people are required on big stars. In such a situation, textile park creates immense employment potential. It also requires workers, designers, accounting and management people, and researchers. That is, overall, from illiterate to highly educated people, there is a possibility of employment.
