Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh): On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tore into the Opposition Grand Alliance, calling it “opportunist” and “mahamilavati”. Amid an election campaign in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj ahead of the fourth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Modi said the opposition parties were only worried about the future of their dynasty and not the country.

"Mahamilavatis can only think about the future of their own dynasty; they are not concerned with the future of the country,” the PM said. He also ridiculed the Opposition leaders for their "dream" to become the prime minister, and said, “Whatever efforts the Opposition makes, it will be Modi again”. “Mahamilavat ke logon, saari koshish karlo lekin ayega to...,” PM Modi said and paused. The crowd at the rally responded by saying, “Modi!”

He further slammed the opposition SP-BSP-RLD alliance in Uttar Pradesh for attacking 'chowkidar' and Ram bhakts. “These are ones who seek evidence of air strikes, shed tears for Batla House encounter,” PM said. The PM particularly pointed at BSP chief Mayawati for seeking support of the rival Samajwadi Party "just for the sake of power". “Behenji is happily asking for votes for the Samajwadi Party (SP). Just for power, just to defeat Modi, you are hugging the people who abuse Babasaheb?” he asked. The SP, BSP and Congress want 'helpless' government at the Centre as their mantra is 'jaat, paat japna; janata ka maal apna', Modi said.
