New Delhi: India has taken a major decision not to join the proposed Free Trade Agreement (RCEP) i.e. Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership of ASEAN countries. The central government says that there were concerns about some of the issues related to joining the RCEP, due to which there is no clarity about this step has been taken in the interest of the country.

But in the evening after the RCEP conference, Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Vijay Thakur Singh informed that due to non-favorable conditions, India has decided not to join the RCEP. He has said that it is not possible to get involved due to India's issues and concerns about RCEP not being resolved.
