Srinagar: In Jammu and Kashmir, the central government has launched 85 jan-oriented development schemes like the Prime Minister's Kisan Yojana, the Prime Minister's Kisan Pension Yojana, the Prime Minister's Jan Dhan Yojana and Stand-Up India on Sunday. The government aims to complete 100 per cent coverage of these schemes under 21 ministries within a month (September 30). Several insurance schemes including the Atal Pension Yojana have also been launched in the Valley and the government plans to provide electricity to all households in Jammu and Kashmir.
A special initiative of the Prime Minister to provide LPG connections to poor people and direct benefit transfer (DBT) for LPG and kerosene will be available in the State. It has also been focused on strengthening women, especially in rural areas. While the Prime Minister's Kisan Yojana and the Prime Minister's Kisan Pension Scheme come under the purview of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Prime Minister's Jan Dhan Yojana and stand-up India are under the Ministry of Finance.
On these schemes, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik said, "As we are moving towards a brighter future, I want every citizen of the state to take advantage of all the changes that have been made. I want every eligible person to get the benefit of the development programmes implemented by the Government of India."
