New Delhi: The government is considering to implement 'Ek Desh, Ek Vetan' to safeguard the interests of the working class of the organized sector. Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar said this last Friday. Gangwar was speaking at the 'Security Leadership Summit-2019' organized by the Central Association of Private Security Industry here.

He said, 'Every month all the employees in the whole country should get their salary on the same day so that people can get their salary on time. PM Narendra Modi is expected to pass this bill soon. Similarly, we are also churning out the implementation of universal minimum wage in various sectors, so that the livelihood level of workers can be improved. ' The Central Government is engaged in the implementation of the Pay Code and the Occupational Safety, Health and Workplace Status (OSH) Code. The Pay Code has already been approved by the Parliament.

The OSH Code was placed in the Lok Sabha on 23 July 2019. The Code will consolidate 13 central laws on safety, health and functioning conditions into one law. Several new initiatives have been taken in the OSH Code. These include compulsorily giving appointment letters to employees, free annual health check-ups. Gangwar has said that since the Modi government came to power in 2014, it has been working continuously to improve the labor laws.
