New Delhi: Lakhs of central government employees and pensioners are going to get a big relief from rising inflation. According to reports, the central government led by PM Narendra Modi can once again increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) for central employees and pensioners in July. It is being told that this time also DA can be increased by 3 percent. If the government does this, then more than 1 crore people will directly benefit from this decision.
According to reports, after a decrease in the AICPI index (All India Consumer Price Index) for 2 consecutive months, there was a rise again in March. This index had come down to 125.1 in January. After this, it was further reduced to 125 points in the month of February. However, in the month of March, it rose to 126 with an increase of 1 point in one stroke. Because of this, speculations are being made that the government may once again decide to increase the dearness allowance.
To protect government employees and pensioners from the effects of inflation, DA component has been added to their salary/pension. According to the Seventh Finance Commission, DA is increased twice a year. For the first time the dearness allowance is increased in January and the second revision is done in July. The government makes this decision on the basis of the rate of inflation. With the increase in the AICPI index in March, people expect that dearness allowance may increase again in July.
