New Delhi: The Modi government at the Centre is going to make changes to drone flying rules (Drone Policy). The new rules can be published to the public by August 15. The new rules will replace the 'Unmanned Aircraft System Rules 2021,' which was issued in March this year. It may be mentioned that there was a demand to amend the drone policy since the Drone Attack at the Air Force Station in Jammu on June 26-27.
Subsequently, on July 15, the Ministry of Civil Aviation issued new rules for flying drones, and suggestions were invited from the public. Thursday is its last day. It is therefore being reported that the government may issue new rules by August 15. Talking to the media, Amber Dubey, joint secretary of the ministry and head of the drone division, said, "After the approval of the Law Ministry, the rules will be sent for publication in the Gazette." He said the ministry is working hard to get the new rules published before August 15.
The new rules also provide a variety of concessions. According to the proposed rules, interactive aerospace maps with green, yellow, and red zones will also be shown on the digital sky platform. Flying drones up to a height of 400 feet in the green zone will not require acceptance. At the same time, permission will not be required to fly drones up to 200 feet within a radius of 8 km and 12 km of the airport. At the same time, the scope of the yellow zone has also been reduced from 45 km to 12 km.
