New Delhi: After the One Nation-One RationCard, the Government is now preparing to finalize One Nation-One Standard. The Consumer Ministry says that the One Nation-One standard will be implemented across the country. Discussion is going on with all the concerned ministries for this. Union Consumer Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has said that the churning is going on at One Nation-One Standard.

He said that he would soon hold a meeting with officials of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) about this. In fact, the ministry had also set a timeline for the One Nation-One standard, but it could not be implemented due to the Corona epidemic. Referring to One Nation-One Standard, a senior ministry official said that it is a very long process. But this goal can be achieved. There has been some delay due to Corona epidemic, but now it will be pushed forward on priority basis. After achieving the target of One Nation-One RationCard across the country by March 2021, the Ministry will move forward on One Nation-One Standard.

A senior ministry official has said that it is the responsibility of BIS to formulate standards in the country. But many other ministries also set standards for individual items. It is our endeavor that the concerned Ministry formulate its own standards, but BIS should bear the responsibility of notifying those standards. The Bureau of Indian Standards has made more than 20 thousand standards.
