NEW DELHI:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with counterparts from Singapore and Italy on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Bali on Wednesday and extended invitations for them to visit India.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), during the meeting with Singapore's Lee Hsien Loong, "the two leaders reiterated their commitment to further expand trade and investment linkages between the two countries, particularly in the fintech, renewable energy, skill development, health and pharmaceutical sectors."
PM Modi also recalled his meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lee on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Rome last year.

As per PMO's statement, both Prime Ministers noted the robust strategic alliance between India and Singapore and also the frequent high-level ministerial and institutional meetings, including the first meeting of the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable, held in New Delhi in September.

According to the statement, Modi invited Singapore to invest in varoius fields, including infrastructure, digitalization, and the green economy, as well as to benefit from India's National Infrastructure Pipeline, Asset Monetization Plan, and Gati Shakti Plan "Singapore's participation in India's Act East Policy and its function as the ASEAN-India relations' national coordinator from 2021 to 2024 were both valued contributions by Prime Minister Modi. Both presidents reaffirmed their desire to collaborate in order to advance the extensive partnership between India and ASEAN "the sentence included.

The Prime Minister so sent Lee his best wishes for the future and extended an invitation for him to visit India for the G20 meeting the following year.

Meanwhile, Modi congratulated Giorgia Meloni on becoming the nation's first prime minister during his meeting with her. "The two presidents talked about strengthening bilateral ties in a number of areas, including trade, investment, anti-terrorism, and interpersonal relationships. They also discussed topics of common interest, the PMO statement said. "Modi looks forward to hosting Prime Minister Meloni to India next year for the G20 summit and commemorating the 75th anniversary of India-Italy diplomatic relations."
