Kochi: The Left-led government and governors have come face to face in Kerala over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). State Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has expressed objection on behalf of the government for publishing advertisements in newspapers against this law. Regarding the government's advertisements in national newspapers, Governor Arif Khan said that it is completely wrong to waste public money for his political campaign.

It is noteworthy that the Kerala government had advertised in the newspapers on Friday, claiming that the state government was committed to protecting constitutional values. The advertisement said that the government has passed a resolution from the Legislative Assembly for not implementing CAA in the state. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, present in Delhi, while talking to TV channels, said that misusing government money for political propaganda is completely wrong.

Khan said, 'Government money is being used to campaign against the law passed by Parliament. It surprises me. ' He said that if this advertisement was issued by a political party, there would be no problem. Let us tell you that the Vijayan government of Kerala had advertised in three national newspapers that the government has taken many brave decisions keeping in mind the sentiments of the people. The government has also called for a ban on the National Population Register (NPR). The government of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has described NPR as the initial step of NRC.
