Dubai: Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has appointed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) as the country's new PM. Prior to this, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz himself was holding the post of Prime Minister. At the same time, Prince Khalid bin Salman has been assigned the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia. However, no reason has been given behind this sudden power transformation in Saudi. For the time being, King Salman will continue to preside over all cabinet meetings.

Let us tell you that the appointment of Mohammed bin Salman as PM in place of King Salman is special for Saudi in many ways, behind this is his efforts to build a liberal image of the country, whose effect has been visible continuously since becoming the Crown Prince in the year 2017. In the last few years, Mohammed bin Salman has taken many such decisions, due to which he has also been a target of extremists.

Since becoming Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman has been instrumental in Saudi Arabia's internal and foreign affairs, but it is believed that sitting in the PM's chair, he will be in a position to use his power more effectively. Currently, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the world's largest exporter of oil, is overseeing matters related to oil, defence, economic policy and internal security.
