Live updates from the MP CM Oath Ceremony: Mohan Yadav took oath, assuming the role of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and for the state's new government on Wednesday.

Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda were sworn in as deputy CMs, while former Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was designated as the Assembly Speaker.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, among others, were present at the venue to witness the ceremony.

Earlier that day, Mohan Yadav expressed his vision for the state, drawing parallels with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership style.

"Madhya Pradesh will mirror the path led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hailing from the land of King Vikramaditya, I am dedicated to the state's progress and meeting the aspirations of millions of Madhya Pradesh citizens. We aim to establish the same level of good governance reminiscent of King Vikramaditya's era," Mohan Yadav said.

The BJP clinched victory in Madhya Pradesh during the assembly elections held on November 17, securing 163 seats out of the total 230-member assembly. Meanwhile, the Congress party lagged behind, securing a distant second position with 66 seats.
