Mokshada Ekadashi, which comes every year, is also coming this year. You must know that Lord Krishna, Vishnu, Maharshi Vedvyas and Shrimad Bhagwat Gita are specially worshipped on Mokshada Ekadashi. It is said that if this fast is performed with full faith and devotion, the ancestors of man attain salvation. Moreover, those who observe this fast are liberated from the bondage of all kinds of deeds. It is said that this fast has such an effect that by doing it, all the sins of human life are also destroyed. This year this fast is on Tuesday, 14th December.
The story of Mokshada Ekadashi - Once upon a time, a king named Vaikhanas ruled in Gokul Nagar. One day the king dreamed that his father was in hell, and was pleading for salvation from his son. The king was disturbed by his father's condition. The next day, the king called the Brahmins and asked them the reason for his dreams. Then the Brahmins told them to go to the ashram of muni named Parvat and ask for a solution for his father's salvation. That's what the king did. When Parvat Muni listened to the king, he was worried.
He told the king that his father had attained hell because of the deeds of his previous births and told him about the fast of Mokshada Ekadashi. He told the king that if you offer the fruit of the fast to your father, he could be liberated. The king then fasted Mokshada Ekadashi according to Muni's statement and provided food etc. to the Brahmins, which led to the salvation of the king's father.
