New Delhi: One more monkeypox patient was found in the national capital on Wednesday (July 27, 2022). The patient has been admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP). Another monkeypox patient is also admitted to the same hospital. Let us know that, earlier, patients infected with this virus were found in Kerala. At the same time, a suspected patient is undergoing treatment in Telangana. Let us know that so far a total of 5 cases of monkeypox have been registered in the country.

In the meantime, there are also discussions on whether this disease is spread by having sex. In such a situation, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has given information on this. The WHO chief has said that the disease has only been found in men who have sex with men, especially in men who have had multiple sexual partners. They said "It is, therefore, imperative that all countries work closely with communities of men who have physical relations with men. He has advised continuing to distribute effective information and services for this and adopting measures that protect the health, human rights and dignity of the affected communities.''

Let us know that Dr Tedros has declared 'Monkeypox' a global health emergency. Earlier, the WHO had claimed that it could also spread through sexual relations. It is said that when a healthy person comes in contact with an infected person, the chances of the disease spreading become more. The virus can enter the body through the skin, respiratory tract or eye, nose and mouth. Whereas in human-to-human beings, it is usually spread through respiratory droplets.

The WHO had also reported that monkeypox had spread rapidly due to sexual activities at two rave parties held in Europe in the past few days. Dr David Heyman, who heads the WHO's emergency department, said the disease was spread because of sexual relations. The reason for the rise of the monkeypox in Germany was also attributed to the party, where sexual activities took place.
