Prepare for a dance of raindrops as very heavy rains sweep through numerous parts of the country from 1st to 4th of August. The stage is set for a captivating performance in Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Sub Himalaya West Bengal & Sikkim, and more.

Today, the weather takes center stage, commanding an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand. The IMD orchestrates this grand performance, conducting the symphony of rain.
 In the next two days, the show's spotlight will shine over east and east-central India, with heavy to very heavy rainfall activity. And that's not where the tour ends! From 3rd August, Northeast India is predicted to witness an increase in rainfall activity, while northwest India awaits its turn during 2nd-3rd August.

Yesterday, the weather department whispered secrets about the monsoon season's second act. Despite July's excess precipitation, the stage is set for normal rainfall. However, the enigmatic El Nino and other unfavorable conditions may conspire to temper the rain in August. Fear not, though, as September promises improvement. The IMD forecasts below-normal rainfall (less than 94 percent of LPA) for August, but hope shines through as we anticipate better days ahead.
