Morarji Desai was the Finance Minister of the country from 13 March 1958 to 29 August 1963 for the first time. After that, from March 1967 to July 1969, he again took the responsibility of Finance Minister. The finance minister who presented the budget on his birthday is none other than Morarji Desai. Born on 29 February 1896 in Valsad district of Gujarat, Morarji Desai presented the General Budget in Parliament on 1929 and 1968 on his birthday, i.e. 29 February.

For the first time in the country, Morarji Desai became Prime Minister in the non-Congress government formed in 1977. He was 81 years old at that time. He was the Prime Minister of India from 24 March 1977 to 28 July 1979. Morarji Desai is the only person in the country who has been awarded India's highest honor Bharat Ratna and Pakistan's highest honor Nishan-e-Pakistan.
