The news of the Bridge Collapse in Gujarat left everyone in shock and the death tolls are continuously increasing. A bridge in Gujarat's Morbi has collapsed just a week after renovation, killing at least 130 people. The search operation is going on. It is on for over 100 others, who have fallen into the river. A special team has been formed to probe the matter.

According to information, The death toll in the Morbi suspension bridge collapse in Gujarat rose to 132 on Monday with rescue personnel recovering more bodies from the Machchhu river, a police official said. The over-a-century-old bridge, which had reopened five days ago after extensive repairs and renovation, was crammed with people when it collapsed around 6.30 pm on Sunday.

Gujarat home minister Harsh Sanghavi on Morbi bridge collapse said, “A criminal case has been registered. An investigation has begun today under the leadership of Range IGP: Gujarat home minister Harsh Sanghavi on Morbi bridge collapse.“

Speaking about the cable bridge in Morbi nearly 150 years old and a popular tourist spot was closed for seven months for renovation. It was reopened to the public on October 26, the Gujarati New Year. There was a â‚¹ 17 ticket to access the bridge. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Gujarat, tweeted, "I am deeply saddened by the tragedy at Morbi. Talked to Gujarat Chief Minister Shri @Bhupendrapbjp  and other officials about this. Relief and rescue operations are going on in full swing and all necessary assistance is being provided to the affected".
