A case of circumcision of a Hindu child has been uncovered in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The muslim woman first married a hindu man according to hindu rituals and then left the husband and visited her maternal home with her son. The woman got the son circumcised without informing the husband. On the complaint of the husband, the police have registered a case and arrested two people including the woman.
The woman named Baby, a resident of Lakhanpur village of Chilah police station area, had met Arun Singh while living in Panipat, she told singh that she is Hindu, after which Arun, who is an auto rikshaw driver by profession thought of settling down with Baby, he married Baby 15 years ago according to Hindu customs, and had three children along the ages of, Golu 11, Kajal 9 and Soni 7 years old.
Claiming that her father’s health is deteriorating she came to her maternal home before the pandemic with her three children. After a long time, when she did not return, Arun reached Mirzapur to know the condition of the children and found out that the woman he had married assuming a Hindu was a Muslim. Arun refused to keep the children at their maternal grandparents’s home, however after being persuaded by Baby and left the children with her and returned home in Haryana, a few days after Arun returned, Baby along with her lover escaped from the maternal home with the three kids.
After looking for them for a long time he finally found Baby and the three kids, however he later found out that, the wife had circumcised the son and also got his religion converted.
Superintendent of Police Mahesh Atri told that a case has been registered under Prohibition of Conversion of Religion Act as well as under various sections. Baby and her second husband have been arrested in this case. Legal action is going on to take Arun's three children under protection.
