Mother Dairy has offered buffalo milk in the Delhi-NCR market at a price of Rs 70 per litre. The company aims to make this new offering a Rs 500 crore brand by March next year.

Currently providing 35-36 lakh litres of milk daily in Delhi-NCR and 45-47 lakh litres nationwide, Mother Dairy sells milk through pouches and milk booths in the Delhi-NCR region.

"We are introducing buffalo milk at Rs 70 per litre in Delhi-NCR," said Manish Bandlish, Managing Director of Mother Dairy, said in a Press briefing.

The company plans to supply 50,000-75,000 litres of buffalo milk per day in Delhi-NCR, with the product hitting the market this week. By March 2025, the goal is to reach 2 lakh litres per day and establish the buffalo variant as a Rs 500 crore brand within a year.

Bandlish highlighted the growing demand for high-fat milk in the market. In the coming months, Mother Dairy plans to extend the launch of buffalo milk to Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Maharashtra.

The buffalo milk variant from Mother Dairy boasts a 6.5 per cent fat content and 9 per cent Solid Not Fat (SNF), providing a creamier texture and rich taste profile. Additionally, the new variant contains A2 protein.

Mother Dairy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) since its establishment in 1974, reported a turnover of around Rs 14,500 crore in the last financial year, with Rs 11,500 crore coming from the dairy business.

The company's diverse portfolio includes products such as edible oils under the 'Dhara' brand and a range of offerings in fresh fruits, vegetables, frozen vegetables, snacks, unpolished pulses, pulps, concentrates, etc., under the 'Safal' brand.
