Chandigarh: In a shocking incident, a woman along with her three children jumped into a water tank from Kherla village in Haryana on Tuesday. Police said the three children lost their lives in the incident while the woman's condition remained critical. The incident took place around 12 noon when the woman jumped into the tank inside her house. Police said that neighbors who rushed to the spot after hearing the cries of the children pulled them out but all of them were dead. Shakunat (33) has been taken to a hospital where her condition remains critical.  

Police said the woman had jumped into the tank to commit suicide. Shabana (10), Saad (8), and four-month-old Iqrar died in the incident. The woman's 12-year-old son was in school at the time of the incident. Inspector Bharat Singh, in-charge of Nuh Sadar police station, said, "We have registered a case on the complaint of the woman's husband Mohammad Arif. All the bodies have been handed over to them after post-mortem. The investigation of the case is going on.''

In Haryana, 4 people lost their lives after consuming a poisonous drink. On Tuesday, police said three of the deceased were residents of a village in the Sonipat district, while another was their relative. Two worked in a sugar mill in Panipat.
