The wife of the deceased had lodged a report of her husband's disappearance at the police station on July 21 last, after which the police started investigating the case.
SP (Rural) Iraj Raja said that a woman had lodged a missing report of her husband Anuj Kumar alias Samar at the police station on July 21 and said that her husband was missing since July 18. Later on August 3, the woman's brother informed the police that the body of his brother-in-law Anuj was found lying behind the dargah on Niwari Road. According to Iraj Raja, after the body of her husband Anuj was found, the woman lodged an FIR against her mother-in-law and her younger son Abhishek. In addition, the woman also accused her mother-in-law's alleged lover Devendra in the complaint. She said that she helped her mother-in-law in killing Anuj. Following the woman's complaint, the police arrested the criminal woman and her younger son. During interrogation, the accused woman confessed to her illicit relationship with Devendra. SP (Rural) Iraj Raja said the trio together strangulated Anuj to death and then dumped the body behind the dargah. According to the police, the culprit woman and her younger son were arrested near the Raj Talkies intersection. Iraj Raja claimed that the premises of the criminal Devendra were being raided and he would be nabbed soon.
