The second time there is a provision of a fine of Rs 4,000 for this mistake. According to an estimate, there are 19 crore vehicles registered in India. Of this only 8.26 crore are under insurance cover. The main reason for this is that after the initial years, people do not pay much attention after the insurance plan expires. About 70% of the people driving two-wheelers are out of insurance cover, while in the case of four-wheelers, the figure is 30%.
