Pithoragarh: In a delightful turn of events, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has embarked on a noteworthy project – the construction of a road on the India-China border. For the devotees of Lord Shiva, this initiative brings exciting news as it will enable them to visit Mount Kailash from the Indian territory, starting from September.

The location chosen for this ambitious road construction is from KMVN Huts in Nabhidhang, nestled in the picturesque Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, all the way to the revered Lipulekh pass on the India-China border. The road, spanning approximately six and a half kilometers, is expected to be completed by September.

Vimal Goswami, the Chief Engineer of BRO's Diamond Project, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We have already begun the process of carving out the road from KMVN Huts to Lipulekh Pass in Nabhidhang." This dedicated effort by the BRO will not only connect the two regions but will also create a special attraction called the 'Kailash View Point' along the route.

The responsibility for developing this unique 'Kailash View Point' has been entrusted to the Hirak Project by the Indian government. The road-cutting process has made significant progress, and if the weather conditions remain favorable, the project is expected to be completed as planned.

Due to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the much-anticipated Kailash-Mansarovar yatra through the Lipulekh Pass had to be postponed and has not yet resumed. However, this setback has spurred the Indian government into action, leading to the creation of an alternative pathway for devotees to access Mount Kailash.

This upcoming route presents a fresh opportunity for pilgrims to embark on their spiritually significant journey to Mount Kailash. It not only enhances connectivity but also eases access to this revered site. With the completion of the 'Kailash View Point' and the new road, devotees will soon be able to fulfill their pilgrimage to Lord Shiva's divine abode with renewed enthusiasm and unwavering devotion.
