MP: Bail plea of 'Computer Baba' rejected,

Bail plea of controversial 'Computer Baba', a former minister of Madhya Pradesh (MP), has been eliminated and a case has been registered against him for obstructing official work in Indore on Thursday. Additional Supdt of Police, Prashant Choubey informed that a case has been registered against Computer Baba and he has been formally arrested on Thursday.

Computer Baba has been in jail since November 8 on charges of constructing an illegal ashram on government land near Jamburdi Hapsi village near Indore. On the same day, the district administration fired a bulldozer on their illegal construction and ashram and arrested Computer Baba. The administration has removed encroachments from their ashrams and other places. 

Computer Baba, whose actual name is Namdev Tyagi, and some of his followers were sent to central jail by the sub-divisional magistrate on the charge of hampering official work on November 8. They were detained for protesting against the Indore district administration's demolition drive. The officials are also looking into some bank accounts and documents of other assets of Computer Baba, which are being probed.

On November 9, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had criticized the action taken against Computer Baba and said that it as political vendetta. Meanwhile, on the day, former Congress minister, Jitu Patwari, and other leaders made a visit to jail to meet Computer Baba.
