New Delhi: On the occasion of International Women's Day, the second phase of the budget session has started in Parliament. During this, Sonal Mansingh, a nominated member in Rajya Sabha, demanded to celebrate International Men's Day from the Table of the House. When Rajya Sabha MP and noted dancer Sonal Mansingh stood up to speak on International Women's Day, she said that we talk of equality. Therefore, she also demands to celebrate International Men's Day through the House.

At the same time, during the discussion in the Upper House, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said that we had started 24 years ago that the participation of women in Parliament and Legislative Assembly will be increased to 33 percent. But now they feel that this target should be increased to 50 percent, because if women are 50 percent of the country's population, then their representation should be so much. He urged the parties that there is a need to work above party politics in this regard.

Rajya Sabha Speaker Venkaiah Naidu gave a special opportunity to the women members of the House to speak on International Women's Day. Discussion on this started by Chhattisgarh MP Chhaya Verma. After her Saroj Pandey, Sonal Mansingh, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Dr. Fauzia Khan and Dr. Ami Yagnik also presented their views before the House.
