Bhopal: Heavy rains between Corona have added to the crisis. Most of the cities in the state including the capital Bhopal have been receiving heavy rainfall for the last 2 days. Normal life has been disrupted due to rain. While people are facing problems in getting out of their homes due to heavy rains, many trains have also been suspended. The Met department has issued a red alert for the highest rainfall in 24 cities. In Vidisha, water entered houses as the canal burst.

Coming to bhopal alone, it has rained more than 2 inches in two days. More than an inch of rain was recorded till 12 pm on Saturday. About 30 mm rainfall was recorded on July 22. While about 23 mm rainfall was recorded on July 23. According to met department, low pressure area in Bay of Bengal is causing heavy rainfall.

The met department is predicting heavy rain for the next 24 hours. In Vidisha, a canal broke out in Natteran tehsil. The canal burst and the village of Seu was flooded. The water entered villages, fields, shops and houses. In view of the highest rainfall, the Met department has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in 24 cities. The cities where red alert is there include Rewa, Satna, Anuppur, Umaria, Dindouri, Katani, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Vidisha, Sehore, Rajgarh, Betul, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Dhar, Dewas, Agar, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri along with Hoshangabad division.
