Bhopal: The weather conditions in Madhya Pradesh are slowly changing. Several districts have received rain in the last 24 hours and now a heavy rain alert has been sounded in 12 districts in the next 24 hours. The MP Meteorological Department has recently said that the cyclone forming in the Bay of Bengal is likely to move forward on August 17 into a low-pressure area, while it is likely to trigger a spell of rain in the districts of Jabalpur, Hoshangabad, Indore divisions including the capital after August 18. With this, monsoon activities will pick up across the state including Indore after 19th August, and then there will be heavy rain.

The Met department says, "Rain is likely to occur somewhere in all Ujjain, Bhopal, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Indore, Hoshangabad, Gwalior-Chambal, Sagar and Rewa divisions today. A yellow alert has been sounded in Hoshangabad, Betul, Dhar, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Barwani, Anuppur, Dindouri, Chhindwara, Mandla, and Narsinghpur due to the possibility of heavy rains. In Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Shahdol, Hoshangabad divisions, guna districts are likely to be electrified and falling with thundershowers. At the same time, it has been said that this time from 1st June to 17th August, there has been 1 percent more rainfall than normal and there are 26 districts where there is still less than normal rainfall.

In addition, there are 30 districts that are still waiting for good rains. Madhya Pradesh has received 6% of the normal rainfall from 1st June to 13th August, i.e., about 25 inches of water so far, while malwa-Nimar and Panna-Damoh districts of Bundelkhand have received less than 50% rainfall at present. 13 districts of Dhar, Khargone, Barwani, Burhanpur, Indore, Khandwa, Harda, Panna, Damoh, Katani, Jabalpur, Sivani, and Balaghat are still in the red zone and have received maximum rainfall in Sheopur, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Raisen, Rajgarh, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Bhind, Rewa, Sidhi and Singrauli.
