Taylor Swift had a fantastic night at the MTV Video Music Awards since she won the biggest prize of the night—the Video of the Year Award—for her song All Too Well. Swift also won awards for Best Longform Video and Best Direction for the same song. Swift revealed important information to her audience in her acceptance speech.

As she won the top prizes at the VMAs, Taylor was ecstatic. In her address, the singer thanked her supporters for their support in the voting process and also announced a surprise she had in store for them. "You guys, I’m just so proud of what we made, and I know that every second of this moment that we wouldn’t have been able to make this short film if it weren’t for you, the fans," Taylor said after accepting the Video of the Year Award.

She further added, "You emboldened me to do that. And I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out Oct. 21. And I will tell you more at midnight."

Taylor also shared news of her upcoming album, Midnights, on Instagram. She also made the record cover available. The artwork for the 13-track new album had names that were temporarily just "Track one" and similar expressions. The last time Swift shocked her audience was in 2020, when she released two albums, Folklore and Evermore, five months apart from one another.
