Mumbai: Mukesh Ambani, Asia's richest industrialist and chairman of RIL, has not taken any salary from his company Reliance Industries Limited in the fiscal year ended March 31. He voluntarily gave up his remuneration as trade and the economy were affected by the Corona virus epidemic.

The latest annual report by Reliance said Ambani's remuneration for the financial year 2020-21 was "zero". Rs 15 crore from the company in the last financial year, which had remained at the same level for the last 15 years. Ambani's cousins Nikhil and Hital Meswani's remuneration remained unchanged at Rs 24 crore, but this time a commission of Rs 17.28 crore has also been added. The report said the remuneration of executive directors PMS Prasad and Pawan Kumar Kapil has increased. Prasad received Rs 11.99 crore in 2020-21. The figure was Rs 11.15 crore in the previous year.

Mukesh's wife Neeta, who is a non-executive director on the company's board, received a commission of Rs 8 lakh and Rs 1.65 crore for each meeting. During this period, all independent directors received a commission of Rs 1.65 crore and a meeting fee of up to Rs 36 lakh.
