New Delhi: The government encourages farmers in many ways by the central and state governments to increase the interest of farmers towards farming. Progressive farmers are also given awards for this. The Haryana government is also encouraged to invest more and more in farming under the CM Progressive Scheme. Under this scheme, progressive farmers are given Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh and Rs 1 lakh at the first, second and third levels respectively. The first prize will be given to one farmer, the second to two farmers and the third to five farmers. Apart from this, 4 consolation prizes are also given at the district level. For this award, only those farmers are selected who keep doing new tests in farming, in addition to farming in less water, pay attention to crop residue management, organic and natural farming.

How is the selection done?

A committee is formed under the chairmanship of the Director General of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department at the state level and the Deputy Commissioner at the district level for selection for the CM Progressive Kisan Samman Yojana. After considering the applicants, this committee releases the names of the farmers selected for the awards.

Let us know that in the last few years, it has been seen that the disillusionment between farmers about farming has increased a lot. In large statistics, people have separated from the agricultural sector. Its biggest impact is seen in the declining food production. In such a situation, the government wants to keep the farmers tied to the agricultural sector through such schemes. These awards are also given to the farmers due to the increase in the trend of natural farming.
