Lucknow: In a series of alarming incidents in the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh, five Hindu girls have gone missing over the past month and a half, with Muslim youths suspected of kidnapping them. These incidents have sparked protests from Hindu organizations, urging the administration to take swift action. In response, authorities have announced a reward of Rs 15,000 for information leading to the arrest of the main accused, Akram.

According to media reports, the disappearance of these five Hindu girls has led to widespread anger among Hindu groups. They submitted a memorandum to district officials and threatened to launch a hunger strike if the girls were not promptly recovered. District Magistrate (DM) Rajesh Kumar and Superintendent of Police (SP) Durgesh Kumar intervened, advising against the hunger strike and assuring the protesters that the authorities were taking the matter seriously.

It has been reported that Muslim youths in Jalaun town are targeting Hindu girls. Despite previous protests and memoranda submitted to higher officials, no effective action had been taken, leading to the current escalation.

One of the missing girls, from the Kotwali area, was set to marry on 14th July but disappeared from her home on 3rd July. Her brother filed a missing person complaint at the Jalaun police station. Tragically, her father passed away on the night of 13th July. Following this, leaders of Hindu organizations gathered at the Dwarkadhish temple on 15th July and held a silent procession. They handed over a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) but, even after a week, the girl remained missing. Akram has been identified as the primary accused in this case.

DM Rajesh Kumar and SP Durgesh Kumar held a meeting to address the concerns of the protesters and promised that decisive steps would be taken. They assured that strict measures, including bulldozer action, would be taken against those involved in religious conversion. Circle Officer Ram Singh revealed that a case had been registered on 3rd July, naming Akram as a wanted individual. Four teams have been formed to arrest him, and a reward of Rs 15,000 has been announced for information leading to his capture. The authorities have vowed to take concrete steps to ensure the safe return of the missing girls and to address the community's concerns.
