Whatever we eat or consume have some sort of nutrients or minerals. There are different types of vitamins and minerals that are needed by our body to function properly. They protect us from heart problems and cancers like colon and cervical cancer. If we eat right bodies get sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals but people have a different mindset and take a multivitamin daily just to be sure they are getting all the required vitamins and minerals which they're unable to get from daily food products.

People take the multivitamin as they think they're not getting all the minerals from their daily diet. They include minerals like chromium, folic acid, iron, manganese, zinc and potassium.

Daily Vitamin

Vitamins are required by us at different stages of our lives.  For example, a pregnant lady also needs folic acid at the initial stages of pregnancy. The older women also benefit from calcium intake which protects them from bone loss and fractures. People who depend only on vegetarian food can also benefit by taking extra calcium, iron, zinc and vitamin B12 and D. Multivitamin can be taken at anytime of the day, it is not necessary that it should be taken before or after food.

Eating different food like fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish, lean meats, poultry and low fat dairy products is the best form of our daily source of vitamins, nutrients and minerals required by our body to function properly. Taking a multivitamin fills in the gap in one's diet.
