Mumbai: A businessman was arrested for allegedly raping a woman. A Mumbai-based businessman was arrested on the charges of raping a 27-year-old model-turned-actress. Amit Agarwal was taken in the police custody on April 14, after the woman reached out to the cops. The accused had allegedly been blackmailing the victim using an MMS clip since the year 2017. The victim is a native of Uttar Pradesh.

As per the report, the man blackmailed and abused the woman. The victim had allegedly met the accused at an event. He had allegedly spiked the woman’s drink and shot a clip of two in an intimate position, which Agarwal used to blackmail and physically abuse her. The victim approached the Oshiwara police after the she got to know that the accused had sent the MMS to the victim's friends. 

According to a report, the woman met Agarwal at an event in Mumbai. Soon, they got into a relationship and began to live together. In 2017, the woman discovered the video of both in an intimate act together. After learning about the clip, the victim allegedly asked the accused about it but he avoided conversation. After the confrontation, the accused allegedly changed his attitude towards the victim. She left for her hometown in Uttar Pradesh. “Last year, I returned to Mumbai after getting engaged to a lawyer,” the woman told the leading news daily.

However, when Agarwal got to know the woman has returned, he started threatening her. The accused allegedly threatened the victim and said that he would post the MMS on social media. The victim succumbed to the threats and agreed to the accused's demands. It was only when she learned that the video has already been circulated, she approached the police.
