Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has been a major success against the underworld. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has arrested Ejaz Lakdawala, the right-hand gangster of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in Karachi, Pakistan. The Crime Branch team arrested him from Patna. The Crime Branch team got this success after the arrest of Ejaz's daughter.

From there, the police got information about him being in Patna, after which he was caught. The court has sent Lakdawala to police remand till January 21. Lakdawala was on the run for the past 20 years. Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Barve told the media that 25 cases have been registered against Lakdawala in Mumbai only, while other 2 places in the state have also been registered against him. At the same time, the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Crime Branch of the case is also contacting other states to see if any other cases have been registered against it.

According to Sanjay Barve, Lakdawala's daughter Sania Sheikh was arrested on December 28. The Crime Branch had been investigating the remaining cases against him for a long time. Anti Extortion Cell had been tracking Sania Sheikh for a long time and she was recovering Rs 5 crore in Lakdawala's name. Sania had told during interrogation that Lakdawala was in the process of escaping to Nepal, after which she was caught by laying a trap.
