The Crime Branch team of Mumbai Police has claimed to have busted a fraud TRP racket. Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh told a press conference on Thursday that after the BARK compound, the Crime Branch team has detected a fraud TRP racket in the investigation. Singh said that TRP was being manipulated through this racket. He said that a fake agenda was being run through this.

Parambir Singh said that three news channels have been named so far in the racket, with two small Marathi news channels, one of which is the name of Marathi and box cinema, besides Republic TV. Singh said that the owners of these two Marathi channels have been arrested on Thursday. He said, if the name of any other news channel comes in this regard, action will also be taken.

The Mumbai police commissioner said that there was a notice that TRP was managed by paying money, which also brought out the name of a company named Hansa. The Hansa company sees the work of BARC. One of Hansa's personnel was taken into custody. Parambir said that the persons were given Rs. 400 to 500 per month and were asked to keep a special channel even if they were in the house or not. Simultaneously, Singh said that advertisements of these channels will be questioned. Republic TV's bank account will be examined, there will be an investigation of the funds received from the advertisement, if something objectionable, it can be frozen. On the question of calling Arnab Goswami for questioning, Singh said that whoever is involved in this fraud will be called for questioning on any number of high posts and further appropriate action will be taken. Some people of Republic TV will be summoned today or tomorrow, Singh said. The same investigation is continuing.
