Mumbai: Mumbai Police will soon issue summons to Bollywood film director Anurag Kashyap for interrogation. Anurag Kashyap has been accused of rape by an actress named Payal Ghosh. Union minister Ramdas Athawale will now fight the actress who filed a rape case against him. For this, Athawale is going to meet Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari later this afternoon. Athawale has demanded the Mumbai Police to arrest Anurag Kashyap.
Athawale further said, "Mumbai police should arrest Anurag Kashyap, otherwise we will sit on a dharna soon." Payal Ghosh thanked him on social media after getting the support of the minister. The actress lodged an FIR against the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap at the Vasorva police station last week. The charges against Kashyap in the FIR include misdemeanor, wrongful restraint and insulting the woman. It is alleged that he tried to assault her sexually in 2014. However, Anurag has dismissed the allegations leveled against him.
In the FIR, a case has been registered against the film maker Anurag Kashuyap under various sections including U / S 376 (1), 354, 341, 342 under IPC for rape, misbehaving, wrongful intent and insult the woman.
