Murmu meets ICAS officers  at Rashtrapati Bhavan today

New Delhi: The Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officers from the 2018–2021 batches met with President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President's Secretariat officially said in a statement.

President Murmu emphasised the important role these young officers will play in the country's financial administration during her speech, and she urged them to strive for excellence in public governance and uphold the Constitution's core values. Regardless of their assigned department or organisation, she emphasized the significance of knowing their job's purpose and working towards public welfare and inclusive development.

By putting in place reliable accounting systems and reports, Murmu emphasized the  importance of Indian Civil Accounts Service  to promote financial responsibility and transparency inside the government. She emphasised the need of a solid public finance management system for encouraging inclusive and fair growth and exhorted the ICAS officers to design systems that might serve as global examples.

The president also cited enhanced openness and accountability as a result of digitalization and online service delivery as evidence of the transformative impact of technology and automation on governance in India. She urged the officers to embrace technological improvements like cloud storage and new accounting software to further streamline and enhance the accuracy of accounting procedures.

President ALSO  suggested the gathering to work with a sense of passion, pride and a service-oriented mindset so as to make India a prosperous nation by 2047. President noted that Mission Karmayogi is a major initiative to make civil servants more modern, dynamic and sensitive in their approach.


Civil servants have a critical role to play to make India a global hub of knowledge, supply chain, innovation, technology development and various other fields, She said. "India also has to keep up with the leadership position in social inclusiveness and environmentally sustainable development," President added.
