MYANMAR: The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) has added 137 more companies to its blacklist for failing to deposit export revenues into domestic bank accounts within the stipulated time frames.

The decision came after the bank conducted a number of steps, including sending notices and cancelling exporter and importer registrations, according to the Xinhua news agency.

According to the statement, the CBM added export enterprises and their board of directors to a blacklist for failing to repatriate earnings from products shipped in 2019.

Earlier, on May 9, the Myanmar central bank placed 158 export companies on a blacklist for breaking the same rule.
All exporters in Myanmar are required to deposit export revenues into bank accounts in the country within the defined time frames under the government's foreign exchange management policy.
